“Conservation center” might be a more fitting title than “park”. The Crocodile Park Manila, a branch of the famous Davao Crocodile Park, extends its reach to educate more people about these fascinating creatures.

Established over 25 years ago, the Davao Crocodile Park aimed to expand its program. It wanted to reach out to more people. The Crocodile Park Manila was born in Pasay City to bring knowledge to students and parents in Metro Manila. They learn trivia and tidbits about these feared creatures.

Crocodile experts educate Crocodile Park Manila visitors. They share interesting facts about crocodiles including their unique feeding habits. They explain their life cycle, natural habitat, and procreation facts. The park is home to Crocodylus mindorensis, also known as the Philippine Crocodile.

Set in the Boom na Boom Compound, the Crocodile Park Manila is a favorite for educational tours in Luzon.

The Crocoseum is short for Crocodile Park’s Museum. It is the main exhibit. Park owner Philip Dizon came up with the idea. Naturalist Virgilio Pedo Jr., who works at Crocodile Park Manila, coined the term. Viewers enjoy an anatomical safari. They explore how the animal body works. They see what it looks like when the flesh is stripped away.

In the Crocoseum, you can view the 50-year-old Saltwater Crocodile Exhibit/Display. You can explore the forests and caves of the Philippines. Visit the Philippine Eagle Interactive Gallery.

Remember, this is a nature park. You will see real, live crocodiles here at Crocodile Park Manila. Signs warn people that swimming is not allowed in any of the water bodies.

The Crocodile Park Manila has improved to include other shows and exhibits besides the Crocoseum.

Regular park shows include an Interactive Wildlife Encounter tour. Watch Tightrope Walking, Crocodile Dancing, and Crocodile Feeding. Don’t miss the Super Bird Show. Regular park hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Sunday.

When visiting Crocodile Park Manila, check out other spots. See Marine World, the Ostrich Mini-Farm, and the Mini-Petting Zoo. Explore some Insectariums and a Butterfly House.

On special occasions, park visitors can enjoy various shows from performers. In December 2013, the park hosted a fire dance by the “Kamindanaoan” dance group.

Sometimes, there are hatchlings in the park. Visitors can view these new additions. Veterinarians care for all the animals. This care extends from baby hatchlings to the largest adult crocodiles.

Davao Crocodile Park’s Manila extension offers an interactive science exhibit. It showcases a butterfly house, insectariums, and an ostrich mini-farm. A mini-petting zoo and a mini natural history museum are also on site. The park brings a piece of Davao’s wildlife to Manila’s urban landscape.
