Paragon International University, formerly Zaman University, stands here in Phnom Penh. It is a testament to Cambodia’s growing commitment to higher education. The university’s journey began in 2010. Zaman University was founded as part of the Zaman educational institutions. These institutions are now under the Paragon Education Company.
The establishment of Zaman University was inspired by the success of Zaman International Schools. The management board of Zaman Co. Ltd. sought to contribute further to Cambodia’s higher education sector. Thus, Zaman University was born.
In January 2019, Zaman University underwent a significant change. It was rebranded as Paragon International University. This change was officially recognized by the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.
Paragon International University strives to be a leading university in Cambodia. It focuses on teaching quality, research, and community service. The university aims to provide internationally recognized programs. It wants to produce human resources that contribute to Cambodia’s development.
Since its start, Paragon International University has used English as its language of instruction. This reflects a recognition of the need for global communication. The current rector of Paragon International University is Associate Professor Dr. Sok Udom DETH. The university is guided by a Board of Directors. Lok Chumteav Chea Sophakanny chairs the board. She is also the owner and chair of Paragon Education Company.
Paragon International University offers several undergraduate majors. These include Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science. Other majors are Management of Information Systems, Banking and Finance, and Business Administration. Students can also study International Trade and Logistics, and Political Science.
The university comprises five faculties. These are Engineering, Economics and Administrative Sciences, and Information and Computer Technologies. There is also a Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Languages, plus Mathematics and Sciences.
The Faculty of Engineering includes departments like Architecture and Civil Engineering. The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences offers programs in Economics and Banking and Finance. Computer Science and Digital Arts are part of the Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies.
