This isn’t your typical lecture hall. The Yıldız Lecture Hall is steeped in history, tucked away in the buildings that once echoed with the whispers of sultans and the laughter of palace children. This place, now bustling with students, has a past intertwined with the Yıldız Palace. Imagine that, in the late 19th century, this very spot was part of the vibrant Yıldız Palace garden. As the Ottoman Empire transitioned into a new era, so did these buildings. The Conductors School, established in 1911, sought a permanent home. After years of moving between temporary locations, they found it here, in the heart of the former palace grounds. The school, later renamed the School of Public Works and then Yıldız Technical School, breathed new life into these historic walls. What was once a place of royal affairs transformed into a hub for technical education. Today, the Yıldız Lecture Hall stands as a testament to this fascinating blend of past and present.
