“Life change” is what they say happens within Yetter Hall. It stands here as more than just a residence. It is a community hub. Students grow closer to their faith here.
Yetter Hall is part of Colorado Christian University’s Lakewood campus. Its construction began in August 2014. The hall opened in August 2015. Three hundred students moved in.
This building is 103,000 square feet. It features 53 apartment-style units. There is optional basement storage. Each unit has a full kitchen, a living room and a washer and dryer. The arrangement is convenient.
Notably, Yetter Hall has 300 beds. Each unit contains two beds for every full bathroom. It makes for comfortable living.
But who was Yetter? The hall is named after Archie Yetter. He was president of Rockmont College from 1954 to 1963. Yetter dedicated his life to Jesus Christ. He was a teacher and writer.
After graduating from Denver Bible Institute in 1928, Yetter became a pastor. He served churches in Colorado and California. For over 50 years, he worked for Colorado Christian University’s heritage institutions.
His roles were diverse. He was a radio broadcaster, dean, business manager, vice president and director of the Bible Institute. His contributions were wide-ranging.
Yetter helped found Western Bible Institute. He served on its board from 1948 to 1952. His wife, Betty, and their five children supported his work. They shared their energy and talent.
Archie Yetter loved the Bible. He encouraged students. He showed servant leadership. Colorado Christian University’s heritage institutions remember him fondly.
Colorado Christian University is growing fast. It is meeting the needs of its students. The university completed $170 million in new facility construction.
Besides Yetter Hall, there are Leprino Hall and Rockmont Halls. There is also the Anschutz Student Center and the Armstrong Center. Each building enhances the campus.
The Armstrong Center is a 60,000-square-foot facility. It houses the school of music. It has an expanded library and a 500-seat theater. The university’s first dedicated chapel is here.
The university plans more construction. A new science and engineering building is planned. New athletic facilities are coming.

Each apartment has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. There is a living room, kitchen, dining area and pantry. Six closets and a laundry closet provide ample space.
Each student gets a closet, extra-long twin bed, desk, desk chair and dresser. Amenities include air conditioning, Ethernet connections and wireless internet. Cable television, a washer and dryer, a full-size refrigerator, an electric stove, a dishwasher and a microwave are standard.
Some of the pod names within Yetter Hall are Never Land and The Well. Others include Middle Earth, The Reef, The Woods, Pasture, La Mesa, The Boardwalk, Treefort, Venture and The Bakery. These names add character to the living spaces.
