Xibeiwang itself boasts a rich history. The area’s name evolved from Xibaiwang. It means “West Baiwang” in Chinese. This refers to its location west of Baiwang Mountain. The mountain’s peak was supposedly visible from a hundred Chinese miles away.

The history of Xibeiwang is long. In 1949, it was Xibeiwang Township. It was part of the 16th District of Peiping. By 2020, the population of Xibeiwang reached 164795. The density was about 3200 people per square kilometer.

Over the years, Xibeiwang has seen many administrative changes. In 1957, Xibeiwang Township became Nongda Farm. It was later incorporated into Yongfeng People’s Commune in 1958. In 1961, the commune split. The western part became Yongfengtun People’s Commune. The eastern part became Dongbeiwang People’s Commune. In 1970, they were renamed Yongfeng People’s Commune. In 1978, it merged to form Sino-Japanese Friendship People’s Commune. Later in 1979, it reverted to Yongfeng People’s Commune again. In 1984, it split once more. The western part was Yongfeng Township. The eastern part became Dongbeiwang Township. Finally, in 2003, they merged to form Xibeiwang Town. By 2011, it became an area. It retained its status as a town.

Today, Xibeiwang is divided into several subdivisions. These include communities, villages, and residential areas. You can find places like Liulitun Community and Liangjiadian Village here. There is also Tundian Community and Daniufang Community. These names reflect the diverse character of the area.
