After national reunification in 1975 Thanh Đa officially became part of Ho Chi Minh City. It became part of Ward 27 and 28 in Bình Thạnh District. After 1975 the area underwent planning changes. Tourist spots like Bình Quới 1 and 2 appeared. Thanh Đa became an attractive resort destination.
