Established in 1897 Wychwood School initially welcomed just one pupil. Miss Batty and Miss Margaret Lucy Lee started the school at 41 Banbury Road. It was a humble beginning for this now prestigious institution. The school quickly outgrew its first location. By 1898 seven pupils needed more space. A move to 77 Banbury Road was necessary. Growth continued. In 1912 Wychwood School accepted its first boarders. This marked a significant expansion. The school continued to thrive and grow.
