From humble beginnings in a Carson home a beacon of faith arose. This is Word of God Ministries. It all started in October 1978. Allen and Rose Charbonnet along with Ralph Turner began a Friday night Bible study. Their home became a sanctuary.
Word of God Ministries quickly outgrew its intimate setting. It moved to Faith Baptist Church in Carson. The Charbonnets established the ministry. They sought to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It became a legally incorporated non-profit in February 1980. The ministry received tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3). Sunday services began in 1982.
Growth continued. In April 1984 the Articles of Incorporation were amended. The ministry was now officially a church. Wednesday prayer meetings and Friday Bible studies were added. By 1983 Word of God Ministries thrived. It offered multiple services each week. Services continued in Carson until a move to Long Beach in 1998. Long Beach remains its home today.
Word of God Ministries’ mission is profound. It aims to impact the spirit soul and body. It provides tools and knowledge for positive change. The ministry wants people to impact their world. It aspires to be an instrument in God’s kingdom. Their motto speaks volumes: A Church of Many Races Where Jesus Christ is Lord. A testament to its inclusivity and dedication. The ministry continues to grow. It touches lives and spreads faith throughout the community. It stands as a testament to perseverance and the power of faith. A testament to those who dared to dream big. And to those who believe in the Word of God. Step inside and feel its enduring spirit.
