Wolvercote Primary School

Nestled in Wolvercote, Oxford, Wolvercote Primary School buzzes with the energy of over 300 pupils aged 3 to 11. Wolvercote Primary School wasn’t always the vibrant hub it is today. A National School was established in Wolvercote in the Glebe house in 1817. This school later relocated in 1856 to a site west of St. Peter’s Church. The Duke of Marlborough generously donated land for a new infants’ school in 1897. Wolvercote Infants’ School opened its doors on May 11, 1898. Fast forward to 1974, under Oxfordshire County Council, it transitioned into a “first school” for children aged 5 to 9. Then in 2002, it expanded again, becoming Wolvercote Primary School, complete with a nursery for children aged 3 to 11. The current headteacher is Mandy Hayes.
