Universiti Malaya is Malaysia’s oldest public university. It was founded in Singapore in 1905 as the King Edward VII College of Medicine. In 1949, it became the University of Malaya. It was then recognized as a public university in Malaysia in 1962. The university’s motto is “Ilmu Puncha Kemajuan”. This translates to “Knowledge is the Source of Progress”. This motto is perfectly embodied in the work conducted within Wisma R&D Universiti Malaya.
Inside Wisma R&D Universiti Malaya, researchers push boundaries. They work in diverse fields. These include medicine, science, engineering, and technology. The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology has several labs in Wisma R&D Universiti Malaya. These labs include the Empirical Software Engineering Lab. There is also a Network Analytics Lab. Other labs include the Mobile Ad Hoc Technology Lab and Mobile Cloud Computing Lab. The building also hosts a Multimedia Lab and a Software Requirement.
