Views extending south towards majestic Mt Barney. The Wickham Peak Lookout Trail a challenging but rewarding climb. It offers breathtaking panoramas. The trail winds through eucalypt forests. Autumn and winter bring a carpet of wildflowers. The trail ascends revealing magnificent sandstone formations.
The 3km return hike isn’t for the faint of heart. Steep sections test your fitness. You might need to scramble over rocks. Solid rock beds can also be challenging. But the reward? Unforgettable views.

Some have even encountered trail bikes and horses sharing the trails. Be aware of the motorbikes and horses though. Some hikers extended their walk using the Calytrix Circuit. This adds another 3.6 km. It takes you to the Grass Tree Lookout.
Remember to be prepared. Bring water. Wear sturdy shoes. And be aware that there are no toilets or bins provided. The trailhead is easily accessible. You can park on Quinzeh Creek Road. Look for the Wickham Timber Reserve sign near a steel sliprail.
