Wesley is part of the United Church of Canada. This is a large Protestant denomination. It ministers to over a million people. The United Church of Canada formed in 1925. It was the first union to cross historical denominational lines.
The church formed from the Methodist Church Canada. It also formed from the Congregational Union of Canada. Seventy percent of the Presbyterian Church joined as well. The union received international acclaim.
