This place is a crucible where dreams are forged and futures are shaped. Wellington Point State High School first opened its doors in 1988, the same year as Redlands College. This marked a new chapter in education for the area. Wellington Point State High School, a Queensland public school under the Department of Education, caters to students from Year 7 to Year 12. In 2023, the school boasted a vibrant community of 857 students and 74 dedicated teachers. Wellington Point State High School isn’t just focused on academics. It offers a unique “Acceleration Program,” allowing gifted Year 10 students to tackle Year 11 subjects, potentially even starting a tertiary course in their senior year. The school also understands the importance of choice and comfort. In 2019, it joined a growing number of Queensland state schools in giving female students the option to wear skorts, a practical and modern alternative to traditional skirts. Wellington Point State High School believes in global connections. In 2019, it formalized a sister school agreement with Suzuka High School in Japan, a partnership initiated in 2017.
