Have you ever seen a building that changes its shape as you look at it? The Wedge International Tower, standing tall on Louisiana Street, has four impressive setbacks that make it unique in Houston’s skyline. Each setback adds a layer of intrigue to the tower, like a puzzle waiting to be solved. This impressive building was completed in 1983 and has gone by several names, including the Southwest Bank of Texas Building and Unitedbank Plaza. It was not until 1994 that it was purchased by WEDGE Commercial Properties and finally became known as the Wedge International Tower. It’s the 21st tallest building in Houston, soaring to a height of 551 feet with 43 floors. Don’t be fooled by its sleek exterior – the building has seen its share of history and drama. A fire in 1993 caused damage to the upper floors, thankfully with no fatalities. Today, the Wedge International Tower is home to various businesses and offers a unique experience with its restaurant and bar, Strato 550, on the 43rd floor. You can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city while sipping on a drink or indulging in a meal. So, if you want to see a building that’s more than just a structure, come and experience the Wedge International Tower, where beauty, history, and modern comfort collide.
