Then Walter Rasmus Sr. came into the picture. This park wouldn’t be what it is today, providing a place for people to play and enjoy themselves, if it wasn’t for him. The reason this park is still going strong today, is because it is the perfect place to enjoy a day outdoors. It’s easy to see why! The park has a playground and various sports facilities, such as a baseball court and a bike path. The city took notice and decided to honor Walter Rasmus Sr. and his work. They renamed this park, after he passed in 2021. Today, Walter Rasmus Park is a thriving place, full of life, activity, and people enjoying themselves, all thanks to the dedication of one man.
