His commitment led him to the front lines. He directed demonstrations. He faced brutal colonial suppression. He was sentenced to death in absentia. Despite the danger he served as Secretary of the Party Committee of Cho Lon Gia Dinh. Later he was appointed to the Party Committee of Nam Ky. His unwavering dedication earned him a seat on the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Indochina.

On August 28 1941 he was executed by firing squad alongside his comrades. His last words were a defiant cry for the Indochinese Communist Party and the Vietnamese Revolution.
