Craving blessings from the elephant-headed God? We are standing before the Varasiddhi Vinayak Temple in Chennai. This Hindu temple is close to Besant Nagar Beach. It is dedicated to the Hindu god Vinayaka also known as Ganesha.

The Varasiddhi Vinayak Temple participates in feeding the poor. The temple frequently holds poojas. The first Kumbabhishekam after extension was in April 1979. Before this, the idol was worshipped at a site opposite the temple. This was within the CPWD Quarters compound.

Inside the sanctum sanctorum, you can see the idol of Valampuri Varasiddhi Vinayakar. His consort Siddhi is held at His left. Above this idol is a small Ganesh Idol. This was the original idol. It was worshipped at the original site.

Later, an auditorium was constructed. It is behind the praharam on the eastern side. There is also a Goshala. The Varasiddhi Vinayak Temple conducts music programs. These happen during Vinayakar Chathurthi in the auditorium. The auditorium is also rented out. It is used for musical and cultural programs.

The Varasiddhi Vinayak Temple is also called Varasiddhi Vallabha Mahaganapati Temple. Ganapati Homam is done here regularly.

The temple celebrates festivals. Vinayaka Chathurthi is one of them. Sankatahara Chathurthi is also celebrated. Darshan timings are from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

The Varasiddhi Vinayak Temple stands as a testament to faith. It offers solace and blessings to all who seek them. Take a moment to absorb the peaceful atmosphere. May Lord Ganesha shower his blessings on you all.
