Perched on Via Felice Orsini stands Villa Scheibler Simonetta. This location exudes an air of mystery. It has witnessed centuries of Milanese history. The villa whispers stories of powerful families and artistic endeavors.

Villa Scheibler Simonetta began as a hunting lodge in the 15th century. Cicco Simonetta, a trusted advisor to the Duke of Milan, commissioned its construction. Imagine this villa hosting Ludovico il Moro and other prominent figures of the Milanese court. These walls once echoed with political intrigue and lavish celebrations.

In 1583, San Carlo Borromeo visited Villa Scheibler Simonetta. He was a guest of Monsignor Alessandro Simonetta. He stayed for several days. This visit marked a significant event. It was the laying of the first stone for the Sanctuary of Rho.

The Simonetta family owned Villa Scheibler Simonetta until 1760. Antonio Simonetta, the last of his line, died without an heir. His widow, Countess Teresa Castelbarco, sold the villa to the Ferrario family of Milan. They held it until 1829. Then the Formenti family acquired the estate.

In 1877, the Scheibler family purchased the villa. They were industrialists from Monschau, Germany. The Scheiblers renovated the complex extensively. They enlisted the help of Marquis Antonio Citterio. Felice Scheibler had a passion for horses. The Scheiblers added large stables to accommodate his interest.

For years, Villa Scheibler Simonetta fell into disrepair. Neglect damaged its structure. Fortunately, the Urban II project initiated a restoration. This project breathed new life into the historic building.

Today, Villa Scheibler Simonetta has been renovated. In 2024, it became a venue for civil weddings. Its transformation marks a new chapter in its history. The villa is a symbol of enduring elegance and serves the community.

The villa also houses a church dedicated to Saints Vitale and Agricola. The adjacent park adds to the villa’s charm. The Pudiga stream flows through the park. It is a tributary of the Nirone River. A tunnel once connected the villa to Villa Caimi.

The city acquired Villa Scheibler Simonetta in 1979. It is now home to various organizations. These include the PIM Study Center and the Welfare Ambrosiano Foundation. It also houses the Social Housing Agency of the City of Milan. The House of Associations and Volunteering Municipality 8 is also located here.

Villa Scheibler Simonetta stands as a testament to Milan’s rich heritage. It has seen powerful families, religious figures, and industrial growth. Its walls hold countless stories. Today, it is a place for new beginnings. It is a place where couples start their lives together. The echoes of the past blend with the promise of the future at Villa Scheibler Simonetta.
