Marvelous Villa Premoli stands before you. Its Liberty style is undeniable. This magnificent villa wasn’t always a focal point of attention.

Villa Premoli is more than just a pretty face. It’s the heart of a vast agricultural estate. The estate boasts a historic 19th-century garden. Many monumental plants call this garden home. Construction began in 1884. The villa replaced a larger farmhouse known as the Cascina Grande. It became the center of a 2.5-hectare complex.

The Milanese engineer Enrico Barbieri designed Villa Premoli. He completed the project in 1885. The Premoli family commissioned the work. They wanted a grand home reflecting their success. The main villa has four floors. It’s surrounded by a beautiful landscape garden. The garden contains numerous species of significant botanical interest.

But Villa Premoli is more than just the main house. Attached are horse stables. There’s even an apartment for the stable hand above the stables. A greenhouse adds to the complex’s charm. The caretaker’s house currently houses Massalengo’s Volunteer Group. The Cascina Grande’s agricultural business sits to the south.

Today the Fondazione Giovanni e Teresa Premoli owns the property. For a time it was inaccessible. Restoration and maintenance were needed. Both the villa and its historic garden required attention. The property required careful restoration to preserve its historical significance and beauty. The restoration efforts were necessary to bring back this important piece of Italian history. Villa Premoli continues to captivate all who visit.
