Amidst the bustling energy of Hanoi, stands a beacon of empowerment: the Vietnam Women’s Academy. The Vietnam Women’s Academy isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to the strength, resilience, and progress of Vietnamese women. Established initially as a training center for the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) in 1960, the Vietnam Women’s Academy has grown into a public university, opening its doors to both men and women. This evolution reflects Vietnam’s broader commitment to gender equality and social development. The academy’s connection to the VWU, a powerful organization with 13 million members, provides a unique platform for its students and faculty. Imagine dedicated faculty and passionate students from the Vietnam Women’s Academy traveling to different provinces, delivering on-site training programs. This outreach extends the academy’s impact far beyond the walls of its Hanoi campus at 68 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street in Dong Da District. Currently, around 2,200 undergraduate students pursue degrees in nine majors: Gender & Development, Social Work, Law, Economic Law, Business Administration, Economics, Multimedia Communication, Tourism and Travel Services Management, and Psychology. The academy’s focus isn’t limited to academic studies. It plays a vital role in research, advising the VWU’s Executive Committee on policy and organizing international conferences. The Vietnam Women’s Academy stands as a symbol of progress, empowering individuals and shaping a more equitable future for Vietnam.
