In 1988 Reverend Johnnie Lee Jr felt a divine calling. He was at the House of Deliverance Church of God in Christ. He paced and knelt crying out “I’ll go Lord I’ll go”. This marked the beginning of Victory Church of God in Christ. It started small. Very small. The first services were in Reverend Lee’s living room. His family and a few others made up the congregation. They were the foundation. The “Making of a Ministry”.

On October 15 1989 the inaugural service of Victory in Jesus was held. Reverend Lee preached “God Has A Pattern”. A month later the first Soul Winning Revival took place. Eleven souls were saved. Three new members joined. The living room quickly proved too small. The church moved to a 2250 square foot warehouse. They borrowed pews. Growth continued. The need for a full-time pastor became clear.

In 1991 Reverend Lee left his job at M-I Drilling Fluids. He devoted himself fully to Victory Church of God in Christ. The church continued to flourish. It expanded so much that another move was necessary. In August 1993 they moved again. This time to a beautiful sanctuary on 5 acres of land. They continued their remarkable journey of faith.

In 1996 the church paid off the land note. In 1997 they opened a Christian Day Care Center. By 2001 they had paid off the building debt. They celebrated with a mortgage burning ceremony. In 2003 they secured a one million dollar construction loan. They built a new Victory Community Worship Center. They dedicated the new facility in 2005. The Victory Church of God in Christ journey is a testament to faith. It’s a story of growth perseverance and God’s unwavering grace. The best is yet to come they say.
