“The place where it always rains.” That’s what “Emalus” means in the Erakor village dialect. We are standing at the University of the South Pacific Emalus Campus. It is in Port Vila. This campus is more than just buildings. It is a vibrant hub of learning. It shapes Vanuatu’s future.

Emalus campus is home to the School of Law. Aspiring lawyers come from across the Pacific. They study for the Bachelor of Laws. They also pursue the postgraduate diploma in legal practice. The School of Law has a visiting staff scheme. Overseas academics regularly visit.

The Vanuatu Qualifications Authority ensures quality standards. They conducted an external review in June 2024. The review checked the university’s practices and outcomes. It assessed continuous improvement. It determined readiness for registration renewal.
