Established in October 1945, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, or USSH, sits before you, steeped in history. Originally named the University of Literature, its creation was decreed by President Ho Chi Minh himself. This institution, now part of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, has been a cornerstone of Vietnamese intellectual life for over 70 years. The university is renowned for its robust programs, training approximately 11,000 students across various levels. From bachelor’s to doctoral programs, the USSH offers a wide range of specializations. These span across 28 bachelor/engineering programs, 34 master’s programs, and numerous PhD programs. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is more than just classrooms and lectures. It has served as a crucible for some of Vietnam’s most influential figures. Leaders like President Nguyễn Phú Trọng and Secretary Phạm Quang Nghị walked these halls. The USSH isn’t just a national treasure. It’s a global hub, boasting collaborations with over 200 universities and research centers across 30 countries. Around 200 staff and students participate in international exchanges each year, reinforcing USSH’s commitment to global learning. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities continues to honor its past while embracing the future. It stands as a testament to the enduring power of education and the pursuit of knowledge.
