Were you aware that two separate institutions merged to create the University of Health Science? Right here in Mihama-ku, Chiba, the University of Health Science stands as a testament to the power of collaboration. The University of Health Science was established in 2009. It was formed by merging the Chiba College of Health Science with the Chiba Prefectural College of Allied Medical Science. The original Chiba College of Health Science, now the Makuhari Campus, was founded in 1981. The Chiba Prefectural College of Allied Medical Science is now known as the Nitona Campus. The University of Health Science offers a Faculty of Health Care Sciences. Within this faculty are several departments. The Makuhari Campus houses the Departments of Nursing, Nutrition, and Dental Hygiene. The Nitona Campus is home to the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences. As of May 2011, the university boasted a dedicated full-time academic staff of 89 members. By June 2012, the student population reached 729. The University of Health Science is dedicated to training future healthcare professionals. It provides a variety of programs within the health sciences field. It continues to grow and contribute to the healthcare landscape of Japan.
