You are standing right in front of the University of Cambodia, founded in 2003 by Dr. Kao Kim Hourn and Dr. Haruhisa Handa. This modern university boasts an 11-story, handicap-accessible building that can accommodate over 10,000 students. Its campus sprawls across more than 3 hectares of land in Phnom Penh. The University of Cambodia offers a variety of degrees including Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs. You will find twelve colleges and schools where you can choose from a wide range of programs, including business administration, computer science, law, and international relations. The University of Cambodia has a long-standing partnership with Southeast Asia Television (SEATV), which is located on campus and is also a training center for the College of Media and Communications. SEATV hosts and broadcasts several university events, such as the annual graduation ceremony. The University of Cambodia is renowned for its commitment to research. It is home to various institutes and centers that coordinate research and training efforts across academic disciplines. The Institute for Research and Advanced Studies (IRAS) conducts diverse research projects year-round. The University also has its own publications, including the Cambodian Journal of International Studies, the Monograph Series, and the UC Bulletin. The University of Cambodia has awarded thousands of scholarships to students, both undergraduate and graduate. There are several scholarship programs, including the Samdech Techo Hun Sen Vision-100 Scholarships. Many scholarships are funded by private donors, making it possible for qualified students from all backgrounds to pursue higher education.
