Remember the night of revival in Houston? More than 700 people gathered at the Universal Church of God and Christ. It happened on June 14th 2023. Bishop Edir Macedo, the founder of the Universal Church, led the event. People came from all over the nation. It was an unforgettable night for everyone involved.
Bishop Macedo delivered a powerful message. His topic was forgiveness. He said holding grudges creates cancer in our souls. These people believe in Jesus wholeheartedly not just with their minds. The Bishop said that people cannot trust their hearts because they can’t control them. But he mentioned that people can control their minds. We may not feel like forgiving sometimes but God gives us the power. The Bible says we will be forgiven when we forgive others.
Bishop Joshua continued the message. He shared the story of a woman with a large tumor. It was the size of a watermelon. As she got worse her husband asked the Bishop to pray. They poured oil on the tumor. The lady then manifested with an evil spirit. The spirit said it entered her because she had a grudge against her sister. When the evil was cast out they called the sister over. She lived next door. The lady with the tumor refused to forgive her sister. She said she would rather die. Two days later she passed away.
The Universal Church of God and Christ started a prison ministry about six years ago. It is called Universal Beyond Bars or UBB. UBB reaches out to inmates. They visit prisons and offer spiritual guidance. In many places they hold meetings inside jails. Inmates hear words of faith. Many choose to start a new life.
Bishop Joshua spoke about lost sheep. He said all those in jail are the lost sheep we should seek. He asked former inmates helped by UBB to stand. They stood at the altar to receive prayer from Bishop Macedo. Fifteen former inmates stood ready. They wanted a revival in their lives.
Mrs. Shirley was one of these ex-inmates. She had been in jail for over 22 years. She had been free for three years and five months. UBB helped her and many others. She spoke of her transformation. She said the Holy Spirit made her a new person.
The Universal Church of God and Christ has a group for young people. It is called Youth Power Group or YPG. It is for teens and young adults ages 15 to 30. The YPG helps young people reach their potential. It helps them rise above societal standards. The youths enjoy fun activities. These include sports music dance and acting. YPG Hangouts happen every Sunday at 1 PM. They are at every Universal Church.
Bishop Celso Junior is the YPG Coordinator Worldwide. He prayed for the youths that night. He gave a special blessing to them. The Universal Church of God and Christ is open seven days a week.
