The church’s history is rich with stories of social justice. It was the first house of worship in Brookline to appoint a woman as Senior Pastor. This was Reverend Patricia Coughlin in 1988. This bold move demonstrates the parish’s commitment to equality. The United Parish of Brookline has also been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. They even fly a transgender pride flag.
