Consider Dubai’s skyline. Have you noticed how twin towers seem to pop up everywhere? Dubai boasts more twin towers than almost any other city.

These aren’t your run-of-the-mill square buildings. The Twin Tower architecture is interesting. The towers look like they came straight out of an 80s sci-fi movie.

Let’s talk about Emirates Towers, perhaps Dubai’s most noticeable Twin Tower complex. You’ll definitely spot them on your way to the Burj Khalifa. The Emirates Office Tower stands at 355 meters. The Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel reaches 309 meters.

What makes them special? They have a unique slant. They aren’t direct mirror images. Emirates Towers rank as the world’s third-tallest twin towers.

The Emirates Towers complex includes the Emirates Office Tower and the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel. A two-story retail complex connects them. It’s called “The Boulevard” and covers 9,000 square meters. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum owns the building.

The towers rise to 354.6 meters at the tip. Occupied space reaches 241.4 meters high. They stand as the 51st tallest buildings in the world. In Dubai, they rank 11th tallest.

The Emirates Towers complex sits on Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s a symbol of Dubai. Al Ghurair Investment’s construction wing built the Emirates Office Tower. Ssangyong and BESIX subsidiary Six Construct built the Emirates Hotel Tower. The hotel offers 400 rooms.

Here’s a design curiosity. The office tower has 56 floors. The hotel tower has 54 floors. The office tower’s individual floor heights are greater. There are 17 elevators inside the Twin Tower complex.

The grounds of the Emirates Towers are vast. Peacocks roam freely. They belong to the nearby Zabeel Palace. The Emirates Towers complex features over 570,000 square meters of gardens. You’ll find lakes and waterfalls. Public seating areas dot the landscape. Parking accommodates up to 1,500 cars.

For a time, these Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in Dubai. The Emirates Office Tower has 54 floors. Its architectural height reaches 355 meters. The roof stands at 301 meters. The top floor sits at 240.4 meters. The floor area spans 100,000 square meters. Seventeen lifts serve the tower. Hazel W.S. Wong and NORR designed it.

The Emirates Office Tower is in Dubai’s financial center. Its design represents modern business. Two equilateral triangles make it unique in Dubai. The tower has three large core walls. These walls support the load. Large steel trusses transfer the load at four levels. Post-tensioning and shear stud connections aid the cores. A curved wall rises almost the entire height. It provides a stunning city view.

Silver aluminum panels clad the Emirates Office Tower. Silver and copper reflective glass adds to its allure. Low curvilinear structures flank each tower’s base. These house parking and service elements. Both towers rise from a terraced podium. A boutique retail mall sits at the three-story base. Restaurants and cafes offer leasable retail space of 7,500 square meters. Landscaping integrates undulating land forms. Water features and diverse plants complete this unique downtown Dubai development.

Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, the Emirates Twin Towers remain one of Dubai’s most distinctive skyscraper pairs.
