You see, Turner wasn’t just a visitor to this city; he was a man possessed by its beauty. He journeyed here multiple times between 1833 and 1844, each visit igniting a new passion for the city’s captivating scenery. He wasn’t content with quick sketches; he delved deep, capturing its essence from every angle. His meticulous studies transformed into breathtaking watercolors, showcasing Heidelberg in all its glory. One particular work, commissioned in 1840, stands as a testament to his dedication.
