Imagine owning a piece of the Las Vegas skyline. That dream becomes reality at Turnberry Place. These luxury high-rise condos stand near the Las Vegas Strip.

Turnberry Place consists of four towers. Each tower rises 477 feet high. Each has 38 stories. This complex offers residents a lavish lifestyle. But how did this residential oasis come to be?

Back in the 1960s, this land hosted Thunderbird Downs. It was a horse racing track behind the Thunderbird resort. By December 1997, Turnberry Associates purchased the vacant 15 acres.

The Turnberry Place project was announced in June 1998. Construction on the first tower started in August 1999. At that time, residential high-rises were rare in Las Vegas. It was considered a risky project.

But the completion of the first tower in 2001 changed everything. Turnberry Place sparked a condo boom in the Las Vegas Valley. The other towers followed in 2002, 2004, and 2006.

The $650 million complex offers 720 units. Each averages 3000 square feet. These condos weren’t cheap. Unit prices ranged from $400000 to almost $6 million. The views were a major selling point. Buyers came mainly from Chicago, Miami, New York and Southern California. Many were retirees over 55.

Living at Turnberry Place meant access to the Stirling Club. This 80000 square foot club was the heart of the complex. It offered amenities like a bar, a pool, tennis courts and a fitness center. There was also a cigar and wine room. Chef Charlie Palmer even had a restaurant there. The Stirling Club was a celebrity hotspot.

However, the Stirling Club faced financial difficulties. It closed in May 2012. It later reopened under new ownership with renovations. These included a new spa, a Starbucks and a high-end convenience store.

Turnberry Place has had its share of notable residents. Alan King, Robert B Lewis and James Caan called it home. Rita Rudner, Lee Majors, Rachel Uchitel and Rich Little also lived here.

But the development wasn’t without controversy. In 2004, residents sued over construction defects. They claimed rain and wind damaged the property.

Another issue arose with the construction of the Fontainebleau resort. This resort’s parking garage blocked views from some Turnberry Place units. Residents took legal action but the judge ruled in favor of the Fontainebleau.

Despite these challenges, Turnberry Place remains a symbol of luxury living. In 2018, a penthouse sold for $5.5 million. It was the highest-priced condo sale of the year.

Turnberry Place is more than just a building. It represents a shift in Las Vegas real estate. It’s a place where residents enjoy stunning views and world-class amenities. It’s a testament to the vision of Turnberry Associates. It’s a place some call home.
