Tu Lien Ward is one of the eight wards that make up the Tay Ho district. Tay Ho itself is known for blending modernity and tradition. But Tu Lien has its own story to tell.
Let’s step back a bit. The area that is now Tu Lien was once part of Hanoi province. Before 1945, it was under Hoan Long’s agency. In 1961, parts of it were incorporated into Ba Dinh ward and Tu Liem district.
The creation of Tay Ho district in 1995 marked a new chapter. Tu Lien, along with other communes from Tu Liem district, became part of this new district. This administrative change shaped Tu Lien into what we see today.
In 2009, the census recorded Tu Lien Ward as home to 14065 residents. The ward’s population structure was quite interesting. Around 3160 residents were children under 14 years old. The majority, 9960 people, were of working age between 15 and 64. About 940 residents were elderly people aged 65 and over.
