Established in 1945, TSV Anderten emerged from the ashes of two former clubs, MTV Vater Jahn and Freie Turnerschaft. These clubs, banned after World War II, found new life in TSV Anderten. This marked a fresh start for sports in the Anderten district. Initially, the club offered handball and gymnastics. A brief stint with table tennis added to its early repertoire. TSV Anderten’s growth mirrored Anderten’s own development. In 1945, the club received a much-needed sports hall. As Anderten flourished, so did TSV Anderten. A swimming pool in 1967, a new sports hall in 1971, and a tennis facility in 1978 expanded the club’s offerings and its reach within the community. Today, TSV Anderten boasts nine dynamic divisions. These include gymnastics, handball, bowling, swimming, dance, diving, tennis, table tennis, and traditional gymnastics. With over 1600 members, the club continues to thrive, a cornerstone of the Anderten community. TSV Anderten even played a crucial role in saving the Anderten indoor swimming pool. In 1990, faced with closure due to financial difficulties, the club stepped in. They established the TSV Anderten Betriebsführungsgesellschaft mbH to manage the pool and other sports facilities, ensuring their continued operation. This act of community preservation underscores TSV Anderten’s commitment to the well-being of its members and the Anderten district as a whole. From its humble beginnings to its present-day vibrancy, TSV Anderten e. V. 1897 embodies the spirit of sport and community.
