In 1917, a vision took root in Osaka. Setsuzō Tsubakimoto founded the Tsubakimoto Shoten, a company initially focused on bicycle chains. This small beginning would eventually transform into the industrial giant we know today as Tsubakimoto Chain Co. Tsubakimoto Chain Co. quickly transitioned from bicycles to the more complex world of industrial chains. They became the first company in Japan to receive the coveted Japanese Industrial Standards approval for their roller chains. This marked a turning point for Tsubakimoto Chain Co., solidifying their position as a leader in the industry. Tsubakimoto Chain Co. didn’t stop there. They expanded their production to include a wide range of power transmission products, including sprockets, toothed belts, pulleys, and even automotive timing belt systems. The company’s innovative spirit led to the creation of the world’s largest chain manufacturing facility, the Kyotanabe Plant in Kyoto. This sprawling complex, with nearly 100,000 square meters of floor space, is a testament to Tsubakimoto Chain Co.’s commitment to excellence. Today, Tsubakimoto Chain Co.’s global reach extends worldwide. Their products are essential components in various industries, from manufacturing and mining to material handling and automotive production. The company’s headquarters remain in Osaka, but its legacy extends far beyond, impacting industries across the globe. From a humble bicycle chain manufacturer to a global powerhouse, Tsubakimoto Chain Co.’s story is one of innovation, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
