“Was it really 65 years ago” someone mutters. It is indeed. Tr\u01b0\u1eddng THPT M\u1ea1c \u0110\u0129nh Chi was established in 1957. Before April 30 1975 it was already a top public school in Saigon. It accepted students from both lower and upper secondary levels.
Let’s delve into the history of Tr\u01b0\u1eddng THPT M\u1ea1c \u0110\u0129nh Chi. On April 30 1975 the air was filled with excitement. The country was unified. The school faculty and students worked hard. They organized teaching activities. They achieved much in training educational programs and teaching methods.
In 1978 and 1979 the Southwestern Border War broke out. Seventy-six students from Tr\u01b0\u1eddng THPT M\u1ea1c \u0110\u0129nh Chi joined the fight. Some even volunteered by signing their names in blood. These students fought bravely. Ten of them sacrificed their lives for the nation.
From 1970 to 1980 the school had 20 classes. In the 1990s it grew to 30. By 1999-2000 there were nearly 100 classes with over 4000 students. The school invested in facilities and equipment to meet the needs of its educational activities. Tr\u01b0\u1eddng THPT M\u1ea1c \u0110\u0129nh Chi has undergone many renovations and expansions. In 2000 32 new classrooms were built. This addressed the learning needs of students in District 6 and nearby areas.
The school has a tradition of honoring its history. In 2017 a traditional preservation area was built. It displays achievements memories images and activities. These reflect over 40 years of teachers and students. Notably the Class of 1984-1987 presented a bronze statue. It depicts Tr\u1ea1ng Nguyen M\u1ea1c \u0110\u0129nh Chi. This statue is displayed in the Heritage Room.
Currently Tr\u01b0\u1eddng THPT M\u1ea1c \u0110\u0129nh Chi has 21 teaching classes. There are over 800 students and 56 lecturers. The school ensures all subjects are fully taught. About 30% exceed standards. The facilities include 21 high-rise classrooms. There is a standard library and 10 departmental rooms. Six principals’ offices and other functional rooms support teaching activities.
The school actively promotes extracurricular activities. These cultivate life skills through culture arts sports and field trips. Students explore the environment history and participate in competitions. In 2014 it won Third Prize in “Melodies of Youth”. In 2019 it won First Prize in “Journey of Knowledge”.
The annual graduation rate is stable at 99-100%. The rate of admission to universities and colleges is improving. Annually 85-90% of staff achieve advanced labor titles. Many teachers achieve high titles at the district level.
In November 2022 Tr\u01b0\u1eddng THPT M\u1ea1c \u0110\u0129nh Chi celebrated its 65th anniversary. Over the years the school has received many commendations. It has become a leading institution in Ho Chi Minh City’s education sector. Since 2020 it has been honored with the Second Class Labor Medal. It also received the Government’s Emulation Flag.
Today Tr\u01b0\u1eddng THPT M\u1ea1c \u0110\u0129nh Chi continues to uphold its reputation. It’s a place of pride for parents. They entrust their children’s education here.
