Before its establishment, Truong Thanh Ward was part of District 9. The area has undergone considerable development since then. This development reflects the growth of Ho Chi Minh City.

Truong Thanh Ward is located to the east of Thu Duc city. It shares borders with several other areas. Long Phuoc Ward lies to the east. Long Truong Ward is to the west and south. Long Thanh My Ward is to the north. These geographical neighbors contribute to the ward’s character.

In 2021, Truong Thanh Ward had a population of 26,061 people. The population density was 2,645 people per square kilometer. The ward covers an area of 9.85 square kilometers.

A significant change occurred on December 9, 2020. The National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution 1111. This resolution led to the establishment of Thu Duc city. It merged District 2, District 9, and Thu Duc district. As a result, Truong Thanh Ward became part of Thu Duc city.

Truong Thanh Ward has evolved into a vibrant community. It contributes to the economic and social fabric of Ho Chi Minh City.
