“The aroma of freshly grilled seafood and the warm, salty air, it was the perfect backdrop for our next stop, the Truong Dai hoc Tien Giang.” The university was once no more than a few humble schools. It was formed in June 2005. Some even say that the smell of the Mekong river was still fresh in their nostrils when the university was conceived. It is the brainchild of the People’s Committee of Tien Giang Province. It was made by merging several smaller schools. In fact, if you walk throughout the university you will find a lot of vestiges of a former life – old buildings, old architecture, even old paths through the grounds. The university has become more than just a school, though. They have been recognized as a leader in research and development in multiple fields. This kind of success is no easy feat. They had to go through a lot of transformation. They even moved their HQ to a completely new campus in My Tho. One of the main goals of the university is to make sure there are enough qualified people to fill jobs. So they are working on creating a strong environment for students that can really support their studies. You can tell that they are passionate about education. That’s why their motto is “Commitment – Efficiency – Harmony.” That motto is not just words. They are truly trying to create the best conditions for their students. They even have modern facilities, libraries, and research labs. Their dream is to become a hub for education, research, and technology in the Mekong Delta. Their path may be long and winding, but their dedication is sure.
