In 1984, it merged with Thu Duc Industrial Vocational School. In 1991, it absorbed Technical Teacher Training School No. 5. This led to its current name, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. Trương Đại học Sư phạm Kỹ thuật TP.HCM – Cơ sở 2 is one of two campuses.
