True Gospel Tabernacle Church was founded in April 1973. Pastor Larry Dallas and Apostle Clarissa Dallas co-founded the church. Apostle Clarissa has been an integral part ever since its inception. She organized the music ministry and Christian Education Ministry. Apostle Clarissa became the Senior Pastor in 2001. This was after the passing of Pastor Larry.
Apostle Clarissa received her formal Christian education at Detroit Bible College now William Tyndale Bible College. She is also a certified instructor with the Evangelical Teacher Association. In 2008, Apostle Clarissa accepted her call into the apostolic ministry. She provides covering and mentorship for pastors throughout Detroit.
Pastor Roderick Dallas is the son of the church founders. He currently serves as Senior Pastor. Pastor Rod was named as his father’s successor. He served as Youth Minister, Worship Leader, and Minister of Music for 20 years. He also functioned as an Associate Minister and Assistant Pastor for seven years.
Pastor L’aShawn Dallas is Pastor Roderick Dallas’ wife. She co-pastors alongside her husband. She serves as Director of True Gospel Tabernacle’s Women’s Ministry “Women of Excellence”.
True Gospel Tabernacle Church believes the Bible is the supreme revelation from God. They believe in one eternally existing God. This God has three distinct persons. These persons are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. True Gospel Tabernacle Church acknowledges the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He is over all things in Heaven and in Earth.
True Gospel Tabernacle Church believes that they are the temple of God. The Spirit of God dwells within them. They believe that repentance toward God and faith toward Jesus Christ produces justification. This justification is through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. The church sees itself as the visible body of Christ. It is sent into the world to glorify God. It proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ.
True Gospel Tabernacle Church is enhancing its media ministry. They are expanding into the digital world. They are improving their livestream, podcast, and vlogging capabilities. The church is raising funds to purchase HD PTZ cameras and audio equipment. They are also getting podcasting tools. This will help them grow their content creation and improve their livestream services.
True Gospel Tabernacle Church holds Sunday morning worship at 11:00 am EST. There is also corporate prayer at 10:45 am. Monday morning prayer starts at 6:30 am EST on Zoom. Tuesday evening Bible study is virtual on Zoom at 7:00 pm EST. Intercessory prayer takes place on the second and fourth Thursdays at 7:30 pm EST via Zoom.
