How fast do you think you can go? TRON Lightcycle / Run will put your courage to the test as you board a Lightcycle and prepare for a high-speed race through the Grid. The adventure begins where the movie TRON: Legacy ends, with Sam Flynn and Quorra opening gateways between the digital world and our own. You’ve been recruited to help them as they bring these incredible experiences to users like yourself. TRON Lightcycle / Run is actually the second “portal” created by Sam and Quorra – the first opened at Shanghai Disneyland back in 2016. While similar, Imagineers had to make some adjustments to the Magic Kingdom version to accommodate the park’s historic railroad. Because the train tracks actually cut through the site of TRON Lightcycle / Run, the building had to be raised about 10 feet so the train could run underneath! Pretty ingenious, right? Now, back to the race. As you prepare for your own lightcycle ride, you’ll feel the energy surge as you’re digitized and transported into the Grid. The pulsing music of Daft Punk fills the air, setting the stage for a high-stakes battle against the villainous Team Orange. It’s a team effort, though, as fourteen riders at a time launch onto the track, reaching speeds just shy of 60 mph. You’ll feel the wind in your hair, or at least you would if you weren’t wearing a helmet, as you race through a dazzling world of light and sound. TRON Lightcycle / Run is an experience unlike anything else at Magic Kingdom, leaving a lasting impression on all who dare to enter the Grid.
