Wonder why Tre Skåne is also called “Lantmännens hus”? This office building has a story etched in its walls. Today, Hemfosa Fastigheter AB owns Tre Skåne. But its history and nickname run deeper.
Imagine Tre Skåne before its transformation. The building faced a serious problem moisture. The original brick facade was failing. New Line stepped in to completely renovate Tre Skåne. They stripped everything down to the concrete frame. Then they rebuilt it all.
But here’s a twist. Malmö’s Stadsbyggnadskontoret insisted on one thing. The facade had to be recreated exactly as it was. This was for significant cultural and historical reasons. The classic yellow brick is Tre Skåne’s signature. Even inside the entrance hall, you will see this distinctive feature.
The renovation also brought Tre Skåne into the modern age. It was adapted to “Green Building” standards. New Line also customized the building for its tenants.
Many well-known companies call Tre Skåne home. These include Lantmännen and Stadsdelsförvaltningen. You will also find Vårdcentralen Rosengården and Sodexo. The Steakhouse and Skånemejerier are also here.
Sigma Civil managed the project. Servicekuben AB was the main contractor. The renovation took place from 2012 to 2016. It covered approximately 13,000 square meters.
Tre Skåne stands as a testament to blending old and new. It balances historical preservation with modern functionality. The building’s story extends beyond its physical structure. Tre Skåne represents Malmö’s commitment to its heritage. It also shows its dedication to a sustainable future. So, next time you pass by, remember its journey. Think of the building’s transformation and the stories held within its walls.
