He wanted to bring professional soccer to his city. He founded S.O.A.R Inc a non-profit organization. All proceeds from the stadium went to support Morgan’s Wonderland. This incredible theme park is located right across the street from Toyota Field. It’s a testament to Hartman’s commitment to inclusivity. Morgan’s Wonderland is designed to be accessible to people of all abilities. Construction of Toyota Field was a whirlwind. It lasted from February 2012 to April 2013. The stadium’s design is unique. Pro Sports Developments the architects drew inspiration from the historic Longhorn Quarry. Ribbed metal and perforated metal facades create a contemporary industrial feel. The roof canopy amplifies the crowd noise. This creates an intimate atmosphere. The field itself is a marvel. The TifSport hybrid Bermuda grass is meticulously maintained. An internal drainage system minimizes rain delays. More than just games Toyota Field has hosted major events. The Soccer Bowl 2014 was held here. The Scorpions won their first and only NASL championship. In November 2015 the City of San Antonio and Bexar County purchased the stadium. Spurs Sports & Entertainment paid extra to secure a long-term lease. This marked a new chapter for Toyota Field. San Antonio FC now plays here. They’ve brought a new energy to the stadium.
