The Toni-Lenz-Hütte was originally built under the auspices of the “Verein für Höhlenkunde Schellenberg” in 1936 and became a symbol of hospitality and adventure in the heart of the Bavarian Alps. Toni Lenz, known for his welcoming demeanor, managed the hut for many years and became renowned for his culinary delights, including his signature Kaiserschmarrn, savory pea soup, and herrings in butter, a dish he called Laussalbe. To honor his dedication, the hut was officially named the Toni-Lenz-Hütte in 1950.
