Seventeenth-century whispers. That’s what the Tomb of Tian Yi evokes. Before you stands the mausoleum of Tian Yi a high-ranking eunuch who served three Ming emperors. He rose to become the director of ceremonies a powerful position. Emperor Wan Li honored Tian Yi after his death. He ordered the construction of this impressive tomb.

Tian Yi’s tomb isn’t just any burial ground. It’s a significant cultural landmark. It reflects the unique position of eunuchs in Ming Dynasty society. The tomb’s design is remarkable. It’s similar to imperial mausoleums though smaller in scale. This shows the emperor’s high regard for Tian Yi.
