It was nestled in the Tân Hiệp area within Châu Thành district, Tiền Giang province. The founder, Ni trưởng Thích Nữ Trí Liên, envisioned a tranquil space for Buddhist practice. The original structure was modest, built from simple materials. Over time, Tịnh xá Ngọc Hiệp transformed. In 1983, renovations began to enhance the main building and surrounding walls. After Ni trưởng Thích Nữ Trí Liên’s passing in 1984, Ni sư Nhơn Liên continued her legacy. Further renovations took place in 1990, led by Ni sư Nhơn Liên and Ni sư Tuyết Liên. These renovations marked a significant step in Tịnh xá Ngọc Hiệp’s growth. The additions included a main hall, living quarters for nuns, guest rooms, a lecture hall, and a perimeter fence. Tịnh xá Ngọc Hiệp became more than just a place of worship. It became a center for learning and community outreach. Ni trưởng Thích Nữ Trí Liên’s imprint remained strong. This was the first place where her teachings were formally documented after a period of dedicated practice and wandering. From here, she mentored nuns who went on to lead other Tịnh xá. Her influence extended to numerous locations, including Ngọc Phú, Ngọc Lâm, Ngọc Vân, Ngọc Thành, Mộc Chơn, Ngọc Ân, and Ngọc Quang. Tịnh xá Ngọc Hiệp stands as a testament to her enduring spiritual guidance. Today, Tịnh xá Ngọc Hiệp is a vibrant hub of Buddhist activity. It fosters both personal devotion and community engagement. It continues to serve as a sanctuary for those seeking spiritual growth.
