Tierrasanta Seventh Day Adventist Church seeks to encourage others through a life-changing Christian journey. The church exists to further Christ’s message of the kingdom of God. God’s love is manifested by respect, compassion and mercy for others.
The Tierrasanta Seventh Day Adventist Church has quite the history. Its roots trace back to 1888. The “G Street” Church was the first Seventh-day Adventist Church in San Diego. A few years later the “University Heights” SDA Church was formed. These two San Diego churches form the historic bedrock of this church.
The “G Street” Church eventually became the “Broadway” SDA Church. The “University Heights” Church became the “North Park” SDA Church. In 1985, these two churches merged forming the “San Diego Central” SDA Church. In 1991, the “Central” Church relocated here to Tierrasanta. The campus was dedicated in September of that year.
The Tierrasanta Seventh-day Adventist Church is a loving friendly community. It worships God and serves others. Teaching from the Bible is a high priority. Following the example of Jesus is key.
Organized religion has not always been a blessing for everyone. Love of God has not always been central in every church. The mission here is to create a comfortable environment. Each worshipper can learn and experience God. Religious freedom and joy are encouraged.
The church’s mission includes accomplishing this ideal from an Adventist perspective. There are doctrinal and practical benefits that our heritage brings. However, Adventism is not the only way to experience the kingdom of God.
