The transformation includes a café and a children’s activity area, fostering a sense of community and providing valuable resources for the villagers.
One of the most striking features of the renovation is the series of trumpet-shaped volumes extending from the original arches of the village committee building. These arches, once a subtle detail, have become a defining architectural element. Covered with triangular skylights, they allow natural light to flood the interior spaces, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The Tiankeng Village Ancient Buildings showcase a unique blend of materials. Concrete, timber, red brick, and pressed grass panels harmonize to create a space that is both modern and evocative of rural life.

The adjacent public square features twelve rectangular patches of grass, symbolizing the twelve zodiac signs. Each year, a new plant will grow on a different patch, marking the passage of time and the ongoing regeneration of the village.
