Notice Thornwood Park across from the primary school. It has been refurbished. The park has an AstroTurf pitch. There is also a separate fenced playground. A picnic area is there too with benches and tables. The park was created from disused railway lines.
Thornwood Community Council has plans for the school’s football pitches. They want to potentially turn the pitches into community greenspace. Glasgow Eco Trust set up a survey. There was a positive response from the community. At a meeting it was decided to focus on the smaller pitch area. It is west of the Multi Use Gym Area. The goal is to benefit the school and community. They want to secure the area’s future as open greenspace.
