In 1984, two villages, Phước Lai and Phước Kiểng, merged. They formed a new entity known as Hiệp Phước. This marked a significant moment in the history of what would eventually become the vibrant town we stand before today: Thị trấn Hiệp Phước. Originally part of Long Thành District, Hiệp Phước transitioned to Nhơn Trạch District in 1994. This administrative shift reflected its growing importance in the region. For many years, Hiệp Phước remained a rural community. The residents primarily engaged in agriculture and fishing, taking advantage of the fertile lands and proximity to waterways. The pace of life was slower. The landscape was dominated by fields and small villages. Then, on July 1st, 2019, Hiệp Phước officially became a town. This transformation recognized its growth and development. While the town’s designation signifies progress, interestingly, the administrative center of Nhơn Trạch District remains in Phú Hội. Today, Thị trấn Hiệp Phước covers an area of 18.83 square kilometers. As of 2018, it boasted a population of 38,645 people. The town is further divided into five smaller administrative units known as khu phố: Mỹ Khoan, Phước Mỹ, Phước Kiểng, Phước Lai, and Phước Hiệp. Each khu phố adds to the rich tapestry of life in Thị trấn Hiệp Phước.
