The Shops at Jax Brewery stands on the site of the former Jackson Brewery. This location is full of immense history and culture. Dietrich Einsiedel a German-born and educated architect designed and constructed the Jackson Brewery in 1891.
The Jackson Brewery was the largest independent brewery in the South. It was also the tenth largest single-plant brewery in the country. For over 80 years the brewery operated continuously. It was the only New Orleans brewery to survive Prohibition. It produced soft drinks before returning to JAX Beer.
Today The Shops at Jax Brewery is no longer an active brewery. It is home to premier retailers. It also provides breathtaking views of the Mississippi River. International visitors can enjoy tax-free shopping at The Shops at Jax Brewery. Participating stores offer vouchers with a foreign passport or official picture identification.
Customers must present vouchers sales receipts passports and international travel tickets at a Refund Center. Refunds are paid in US currency up to $500. Checks are issued for refunds over $500. Refunds can also be obtained by mail. Please note that only physical purchases qualify for reimbursement. Online orders and refreshments are nonrefundable.
