It’s a phoenix, reborn from the ashes of a predecessor deemed “failing”. The Oxford Academy took over the site and initially used the old buildings. Imagine walking the same halls where students once struggled, now filled with the energy of a fresh start. The Oxford Academy is located in Littlemore, Oxford, England. It serves as the state secondary school for The Leys, Rose Hill, and Littlemore. A significant moment in The Oxford Academy’s history came in 2011. A new, purpose-built £33 million building opened its doors to students. This modern facility signaled a commitment to providing a quality learning environment. The journey wasn’t without its challenges. The Oxford Academy faced its own struggles, being placed in special measures in 2013. But like a true phoenix, it rose again. Improvements were made, and by 2015, the school had emerged from special measures, proving its resilience. The Oxford Academy is supported by a trio of sponsors. These are the Beecroft Trust, the Diocese of Oxford, and Oxford Brookes University. This collaboration demonstrates a shared vision for education. With over 1,200 students, including a sixth form, The Oxford Academy fosters a vibrant learning community. The school boasts smaller class sizes than the state sector average. This allows for more personalized attention. The Oxford Academy offers a comprehensive education for students aged 11 to 18.
